I’ve seen this so many times and it never gets less frustrating to watch. 🫠 When you do too much cardio your cortisol stays elevated, and muscle breaks down faster than it builds. Your body basically reads the whole thing as a threat it needs to survive, not a workout it can recover from. What we changed had nothing to do with adding more movement. We added strength training to replace the long cardio sessions, increased her protein, and made recovery days actual non-negotiables. We also finally pulled her labs and addressed what was actually driving the problem. Just 4 months later her body composition had shifted more than it had in 2 full years of daily cardio.
